Boca Raton Underground Dog Fence Installation for Bear
Bear loved getting to the neighbors' dogs—so much that he was charging into and climbing over the backyard fence. He was also dashing through the front door toward the street. His family needed a safer boundary without sacrificing their already tight backyard.
The Challenge
Two escape risks—and very little room to spare
Bear's backyard had a white privacy fence, but the physical barrier was not enough. When the neighbors' dogs were outside, Bear would charge the fence and climb over it to join them.
The front of the home presented a different risk. A quick dash through an open door could put Bear close to the street in seconds.
The narrow rear yard made the project more demanding. A conventional boundary layout could have taken away too much of Bear's usable space, yet the system still needed to keep him from reaching the white fence.
The Pet Stop Solution
Edge-to-Edge™ protection for a tight Boca Raton backyard
Pet Stop South Florida designed a custom underground dog fence layout around Bear's behavior and the shape of the property. Pet Stop's unique Edge-to-Edge™ technology made it possible to preserve maximum available space in the narrow backyard while establishing a boundary that kept Bear from getting to the white fence.
The layout also extended protection to the front of the property, addressing the risk of Bear dashing toward the street. Every part of the installation—from wire placement to driveway routing and equipment location—was planned for this specific home.
Custom boundary planning
The route was designed around Bear's escape behaviors, the rear privacy fence, the narrow side areas and the front street exposure.
Careful wire installation
Specialized equipment handled open areas, while tight sections beside the white fence were completed carefully by hand.
Clean driveway crossing
A precise cut between the black top and concrete sidewalk allowed the boundary wire to continue across the front of the property with a neat finished appearance.
System setup and training
The Pet Stop transmitter was installed in a protective enclosure, then Bear began Pet Stop's GentleSteps training using visual flags and hands-on, tone-only guidance.
The Finished Project
A boundary built around Bear's real behavior
The completed installation created a defined safety boundary for both the front and back of the property. In the tight rear yard, the Edge-to-Edge™ layout preserved as much usable room as possible while helping prevent Bear from reaching the fence he had been climbing.
At the front, the system was designed to add another layer of protection between Bear, an open door and the street. Boundary flags and guided training gave Bear clear visual cues as he began learning his new limits.

Common Questions
Underground dog fences for challenging properties
Can an underground dog fence work in a small or narrow yard?
Yes. A professional layout can be customized to the property's available space. For Bear's tight backyard, Pet Stop Edge-to-Edge™ technology helped preserve maximum usable room while keeping the boundary away from the white fence.
Can one system protect both the front and backyard?
It can. The wire route is designed around the home, access points and the dog's behavior. Bear's layout addressed both the backyard fence-climbing risk and the front street exposure.
What happens after the wire is installed?
The system is configured for the dog and property, and the dog is introduced to the new boundary. Visual flags and guided training help establish where the safe area ends.
