Training
Making sure your pet is properly trained to your fencing system is crucial. We use the revolutionary Pet Stop GentleSteps training method, a new way to train your pet to the fence without the use of painful, traumatic electric shocks. This method takes the stress out of training and allows your pet to focus on learning – pets are happier and learn faster with the Pet Stop GentleSteps method.
Electronic Dog Fence Repair & Support
Pet Stop of South Florida repairs wire breaks, changes or reinstalls boundaries, and services wired electronic pet-containment systems. Compatibility with Invisible Fence®, PetSafe®, DogWatch®, Dog Guard® and Innotek® depends on the specific model; when a compatible repair is not practical, we can discuss a complete system upgrade.

We’ve chosen to provide Pet Stop® brand solutions because we believe in their safety, reliability and flexibility. Pet Stop products are designed and manufactured in the USA with imported parts. Our top priority is maintaining your pet’s health and happiness.

Meet the Owner
Jeff Campbell has personally run Pet Stop of South Florida since 2002, after eight years installing and training with Invisible Fence in Columbus, Ohio. Jeff supervises or personally takes part in every installation and serves as the company’s primary Pet Stop GentleSteps™ trainer — you’re working directly with the owner, not a rotating crew.
What Our Customers Say
Our Lifetime Containment Guarantee
If you have a consistent containment issue, we want the chance to put it right. Most escapes turn out to be something simple — a collar that hasn’t been charged, a system without the optional battery backup that has lost power, or a collar worn too loosely — and we can usually sort those out over the phone. If the problem is genuinely ongoing, we come back to adjust the programming, and we do additional training with your dog if that’s what’s needed. If we cannot successfully contain your dog, we refund your money.
The guarantee lasts for the life of the system on our Pet Stop Link Ultra and Pet Stop EcoLite Pro packages. There’s no time limit and no expiry.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a dog fence cost?
Most installations in Broward and Palm Beach County run between $1,000 and $2,500. Variables that contribute to pricing are installation size and challenges, along with training and warranty choices and the number of pets being contained.
A free in-home consultation is always available to evaluate and discuss your specific needs, answer any and all questions, and provide a fully customizable quote with options for you to choose from. Phone consultations and email quotes can also be arranged if that is your preference.
Is the system safe for my dog?
Yes. Correction levels are fully adjustable to your dog's size and temperament, with safety features like Comfort Contacts and SafetyStop built in, and training is built around positive reinforcement, not just correction.
What is Pet Stop GentleSteps™ training?
Our exclusive, certified training protocol — only Pet Stop South Florida trainers are certified to deliver it. Jeff Campbell personally leads it, drawing on more than 25,000 dogs trained over his career in pet containment since 1994.
Can this work for a small dog or puppy?
Yes. We train dogs as small as 3 lbs, and puppies starting at 10–12 weeks. Most dogs are fully trained within 10–14 days.
Can I have multiple dogs with different settings?
Yes. Each dog's collar is programmed independently, so correction levels and boundary behavior can differ dog to dog on the same system.
Do you install indoor containment too?
Yes. The same technology works indoors — keeping pets off counters, out of the litter box, or away from other off-limit areas — not just outdoor boundaries.
Do you handle repairs and retraining if a dog needs a refresher?
Yes. Repairs are one of our most common service calls, and we offer reactivation training for dogs that need a refresher after time away from their boundary.
Can this reinforce a fence I already have?
Yes. Adding an underground boundary inside your existing fence line stops digging, jumping, and fence-charging — your fence stays exactly as is.
Do you work on Invisible Fence® or DogWatch® systems, not just your own?
Yes. We independently service and repair Invisible Fence®, DogWatch®, PetSafe®, and other brands, with compatible collars and replacement parts.
What areas do you serve?
Broward and Palm Beach Counties are our primary focus, with continued service in Miami-Dade and Martin Counties.
Can my dog fence move with me if I move house?
Yes. Your Pet Stop transmitter and receiver collars belong to you, and in most cases they can be inspected, reinstalled and reconnected at your new home. The buried boundary wire stays behind, because a new route has to be designed around the new yard, its driveway, landscaping and access points.
The biggest benefit is for the dog. The same equipment means the same collar tone and the same flags, so a dog who already knows the system usually doesn't have to start training over from the beginning. Some families choose new equipment at the new home instead, especially if the existing system is older or the new property needs features the old one doesn't have. We inspect what you have and tell you honestly which makes better sense for your dog.
What happens to my dog fence if I sell my home?
Some clients choose to leave the system in place and include it with the sale when they know the new owners have pets. It can be a real selling point for the home, and it keeps the equipment useful instead of sitting in a garage. We can inspect the system for the incoming owners, replace collars, and show them how it works and how to train their own dogs to it. If you're moving and undecided, we can talk through both options before closing.
What happens if my dog gets out?
Call us. Most of the time it’s something straightforward — the collar hasn’t been charged, a system without the optional battery backup has lost power, or the collar is being worn too loosely — and we can work that out with you over the phone. If there’s a consistent containment issue, we come back and adjust the programming, and do additional training with your dog if that’s what’s needed. That’s included, not an extra. Our Lifetime Containment Guarantee on the Pet Stop Link Ultra and Pet Stop EcoLite Pro systems means that if we cannot successfully contain your dog, we give you your money back.
About two-thirds of our Pet Stop installations in South Florida are on properties that already have a physical fence.
The dog is still getting out — digging under, jumping over, pushing through a gap, or going through a gate somebody left open. A wood or PVC fence marks a property line. It doesn’t teach a dog anything, and a determined dog treats it as an obstacle rather than a boundary.
A Pet Stop boundary wire can run along an existing fence line to address exactly that. With a Pet Stop collar fitted and Pet Stop GentleSteps training, the dog learns where the edge is and stops testing it, and the fence you already paid for stays where it is.
