Replacement Batteries

Pet Stop replacement dog fence collar batteries
When the power goes out, your Pet Stop system stays on. That’s because the Pet Stop PowerWizard® incorporates circuity that couples to a battery to supply power to the transmitter for hours up to days, depending on the battery your Dealer selects. Simply a great way to ensure that your system stays operational regardless of the environmental conditions.

The Pet Stop OT-300 transmitter is configured to the property, not sold to a fixed yard size. It is rated for properties up to 50 acres.

Acreage properties. The large Pet Stop installations are in Loxahatchee, Jupiter Farms and Wellington in Palm Beach County, and Southwest Ranches, Davie, Parkland and Plantation in Broward — typically covering five to ten acres. These use up to 10,000 feet of Pet Stop boundary wire in a heavier 12-gauge, paired with a Pet Stop 24-volt power supply to hold a consistent signal field across the whole boundary. A recent Pet Stop installation in Plantation covered 3.75 acres with approximately 3,100 feet of Pet Stop boundary wire and four pets on one shared boundary.

Compact lots. Intracoastal properties in Fort Lauderdale, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Pompano Beach and Lighthouse Point, and golf course communities in Coral Springs, Deerfield Beach, Delray Beach, Boca Raton and Boynton Beach, are often a quarter acre or less. These use the Pet Stop Edge-to-Edge layout, which pushes the Pet Stop boundary closer to the property line so a small yard stays a usable yard.

The largest residential properties anywhere in Broward or Palm Beach County run to roughly fifteen to twenty acres, and a property that size is about one Pet Stop installation in five hundred. Both ends of that range are covered, and the Pet Stop design work is the same either way — the boundary is drawn around how the property is actually used.

Adding a pet means adding a Pet Stop collar, not another Pet Stop system.

One Pet Stop transmitter, one Pet Stop boundary, no limit on how many pets use it. Each receiver collar runs on its own power and holds its own settings, and no collar affects the signal field the Pet Stop transmitter creates. Whether one pet wears a collar or five do, the boundary is the same boundary.

Different pets, different boundaries — on the same Pet Stop wire. The Pet Stop EcoLite receiver, with or without Link, adjusts sensitivity per pet, which changes how close each one can get to the boundary before the Pet Stop collar responds. That solves a common problem in multi-pet homes. If one dog gets territorial or worked up at people and dogs going past, that dog can be held further back from the sidewalk. A calmer dog on the same Pet Stop system can be allowed right up close. Same wire, same transmitter, two different limits.

Every size. Teacup Yorkies to 180-pound Mastiffs, and everything in between. The Pet Stop EcoLite receiver weighs just under an ounce, which is what makes the small end possible.

Every temperament. A timid rescue mix needs a different approach than an exuberant Boxer. Golden Retrievers and doodles, Beagles and hounds following a nose, terriers with more determination than sense, easygoing Cavaliers — each gets its own Pet Stop collar settings and its own pace through training. That is the point of Pet Stop GentleSteps training: the correction level advances gradually to what that particular pet needs, rather than starting where a manual says it should.

Cats use the same Pet Stop system as dogs — the same boundary, the same wire, their own collar and their own settings.

Charging, and what it checks while it charges. The Pet Stop EcoLite receiver fully recharges in three hours and runs up to three weeks on a charge, depending on settings and how often the Pet Stop collar activates. We recommend charging weekly so it becomes routine.

Every charge is a test. The Pet Stop diagnostic charging cradle doesn’t just charge the receiver — it runs a functional check of the collar, including the correction itself, and tells you if the receiver needs service. As the manufacturer puts it, you discover any problem before your pet does.

That is worth weighing against a system running a two-year disposable battery. Between battery changes, nothing tests that collar. A weekly charge on a Pet Stop diagnostic cradle means the collar is verified working every week — roughly one hundred checks in the time another system gets none.

There are no replacement batteries to buy, none to keep on hand, and nothing to go hunting for when you can’t remember the last time you changed one. Every Pet Stop receiver flashes a low-battery alert, and the Pet Stop Link app shows live battery status.

Compared to a GPS collar, the Pet Stop EcoLite receiver is a different kind of ownership entirely. GPS collars need charging daily, sometimes more than once a day, because the collar runs a satellite receiver continuously. Three hours to full and up to three weeks of use is not the same commitment.

Why the signal type matters, and why it’s a settled question.

False corrections — a collar activating for no reason — were a real problem in the 1970s and 1980s, when analog systems were the only pet containment available. An unrelated device or appliance could put out a signal the collar mistook for the boundary.

FM was the industry’s answer to that in the 1990s, and it was a genuine improvement over analog. Digital processing arrived after it, and it is cleaner still.

Every Pet Stop transmitter uses Pet Stop DM Technology — Digital Modulation. The manufacturer describes it as the same type of technology used in commercial aircraft radios to avoid signal interference, and positions it above FM modulation.

The Pet Stop transmitter runs three modulations across four frequencies — twelve programmable combinations, all digitally processed. On a practical level, that means a Pet Stop system can be tuned away from whatever else is nearby: a neighbour’s fence system, appliances in the house, anything in the area putting out a signal that a Pet Stop collar might otherwise pick up.

Pet Stop lightning protection, built for South Florida.

South Florida is often called the lightning capital of the world. Palm Beach County recorded roughly 713,000 lightning strikes in 2024, third-highest of any county in the country. This is not a theoretical concern here.

A strike doesn’t have to hit the transmitter to reach it. Lightning travels through the ground, and a strike near or on the boundary wire can follow that wire back to the transmitter in the garage.

Every Pet Stop transmitter has lightning protection built in — not an add-on surge device, part of the unit. It works to keep the Pet Stop system running through a nearby strike.

Pet Stop Zapp Alert tells you when it didn’t. In the event of a direct hit that takes the Pet Stop transmitter down, Pet Stop Zapp Alert sounds a distinct beeping pattern — different from the wire break alarm — so you know immediately which problem you have. This matters because a dead fence is silent otherwise. Without an alert, the first sign that a system has failed is often the dog leaving the yard.

Pet Stop Wire Break Warning has its own alarm. An audible and visual warning if the Pet Stop boundary wire is cut — by a landscaper’s edger, a shovel, or a strike. Different sound, different problem.

The Pet Stop Link app adds text and email alerts on top of the Pet Stop transmitter’s own alarms. The alarms don’t depend on the app or the wifi — the Pet Stop transmitter still sounds in the garage regardless. Link means you also hear about it when you’re not home.

Pet Stop PowerWizard battery backup is available on every system — up to eight hours on the standard battery, depending on how much boundary wire is installed, and longer with a battery upgrade.

Every Pet Stop transmitter also holds its settings through an outage. When power returns, the Pet Stop system comes back exactly as it was configured — no resetting, no reprogramming, no service call.

Pet Stop Yard Link — a shared play area between two properties. Where neighbours each have their own Pet Stop system, the two Pet Stop transmitters can run on different frequencies with boundaries that overlap into a portion of each yard. That creates a common area where both households’ pets can play together, without either one getting full access to the other’s property. Each pet still has its own Pet Stop boundary and its own Pet Stop collar settings.

Three separate Pet Stop protections, and they cover different things.

Pet Stop UltraCare warranty covers the equipment, including accidents. Most premium containment brands warrant against manufacturing defects. The Pet Stop UltraCare warranty covers manufacturing defects for the life of the product and covers accidental damage — damage that was never a manufacturing failure. A Pet Stop receiver run over in the driveway, dropped, or chewed is replaced for a fee between $89 and $149 depending on whether it’s handled by shipping or by a Pet Stop service call — well below the retail cost of the part.

Pet Stop UltraCare coverage follows you, not the house. If you move and take your collars and transmitter with you, the Pet Stop UltraCare warranty moves too — honored by the Pet Stop dealer in your new area or by the manufacturer directly. Pet Stop equipment left behind for the next homeowner is no longer covered.

Pet Stop service covers the wire. The boundary wire itself carries no manufacturer warranty — no brand’s does. What we do instead: every Link Ultra package includes one year of Pet Stop installation and service at no charge, so routine lawn maintenance nicking the Pet Stop boundary wire in that first year is handled with no service call charge. Ecolite Pro includes six months of the same Pet Stop service coverage.

The Pet Stop Lifetime Containment Guarantee covers the outcome. It applies to our two premium Pet Stop packages:

  • Link Ultra — the Pet Stop OT-300 transmitter with the Pet Stop EcoLite receiver with Link.
  • Ecolite Pro — the Pet Stop EcoLite receiver with the Pet Stop PCC-200 Pro transmitter.

It does not apply to Perimeter Basic.

Containment problems are rare, and when they do happen the cause is almost always one of three things: the Pet Stop collar isn’t fitted properly, the battery hasn’t been changed or the collar hasn’t been charged, or somebody unplugged the Pet Stop transmitter to stop the beeping and didn’t mention it to anyone.

So if a containment problem continues, we ask for the opportunity to come out and do a thorough Pet Stop system check — confirm the transmitter, boundary and receiver are all working as they should, adjust the collar settings if the dog needs a different configuration, and provide additional GentleSteps training if that’s what the situation calls for.

If we work through all of that and still cannot contain your dog, you receive a full refund. There is no time limit on this.

Pet Stop equipment, service and result — each protected separately.

The Pet Stop TriScan three-antenna receiver gives full 360-degree signal reception regardless of how the collar sits on the dog’s neck. Other receivers depend on the pet’s head being straight and level to read the boundary properly. The Pet Stop receiver reacts in 80 milliseconds — about five times faster than a blink.

Compatibility With Selected Existing Systems

Some Pet Stop components can service or replace parts of certain older wired systems from other brands. Compatibility depends on the transmitter, receiver and model. Call with the equipment details so we can determine whether repair, a compatible component or a complete Pet Stop upgrade is the most dependable option.
